SP 800-53 Rev. 5 — AC-5 and AC-6
Includes separation-of-duties and least-privilege controls relevant by analogy to separation of machine powers.
NIST — official/source page ↗Thirteen explicit boundaries protecting thought, inquiry, evidence, context, purpose, jurisdiction, morality, emergency power, updates, appeals, retention and representation consistency.
A firewall defines a boundary that cannot be crossed merely because a machine can technically cross it. Each firewall needs legal, technical and institutional enforcement plus a red-team test that tries to force the prohibited transition.
The v0.14 atlas includes Thought–Action, Inquiry–Intent, Prediction–Evidence, Context, Purpose, Jurisdiction, Moralization, Cross-Domain, Emergency, Model-Update, Appeal-Independence, Retention and Representation-Consistency firewalls.
Each firewall is useful only if an auditor can identify what crossing it looks like, what provenance is expected, what system component is responsible and how an appeal can repair the result.
